Hammonton, NJ—Today, Kramer Beverage Company, a local wholesale beer distributor, agreed to purchase the rights for Ballast Point from Hunterdon Brewing. With this new acquisition, Kramer Beverage strengthens its portfolio to include more than a hundred brands from over 85 manufacturers.

“The acquisition of these great brands together with our industry leading service model will enable us to provide even better and more efficient service to our customers in the Central and Southern New Jersey area,” said Mark Kramer, President of Kramer Beverage Company. “I’m very proud to be leading my family’s business through this exciting time.”

San Diego-based Ballast Point has an avid following among beer enthusiasts. From Manta Ray Double IPA to Bonito Blonde Ale, Ballast Point is committed to producing beers that have a distinct taste. The brewer’s Sculpin, an American India Pale Ale, is rated world class on the BeerAdvocate website, a popular forum for craft beer lovers.

As of June 26, 2017, Kramer Beverage Co. will carry the following Ballast Point Brands:

Sculpin India Pale Ale

Ballast Point’s flagship beer is a testament to their homebrew roots. Hopped at five separate stages, this gold-medal winning Ale has hints of apricot, peach, mango and lemon flavors. At 7% ABV, it packs a sting—just like the fish it’s named after.

Grapefruit Sculpin

A fresh take on their signature IPA, this easy-drinking IPA is perfect for summer. The tart freshness of grapefruit complements the Ale’s citrus-y hop character.

Pineapple Sculpin

Ballast Point describes this brew as a tropical take on a tried-and-true favorite. Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of their signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could they not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch.

Unfiltered Sculpin

Cramming extra hops into every sip, this beer enhances the classic Scuplin notes of fresh apricot, peach, mango and lemon with a slight haze and less bitterness. While freshness is always key to brewing quality beer, Ballast Point maintains that it is “especially true for this extra-hopped IPA”.

Sea Rose Tart Cherry Wheat Ale

Ballast Points describes this brew as a crisp wheat ale with a tart cherry twist. Sea Rose tart cherry wheat ale is a fresh take on fruit beers. Originally conceived during an employee-led R&D brew, it’s one of the brewer’s most imaginative recipes yet. The American wheat style is light and clean, while fresh cherry juice adds a soft coral color and fruity nose that gives way to a dry, slightly tart finish.

Manta Ray Double IPA

This new IPA rises above the rest, according to Ballast Point. Aromas of fresh, citrusy tangerine, melon and light pine leap from the beer and linger over a smooth finish. Like its namesake, this brew can sneak up on you. At 8.5% ABV, it’s a big beer without a bite.

Mango Even Keel Session Ale with Mango

The perfect balance of fruit and hops, Mango Even Keel is the ideal beer for easy drinking. This hoppy, session ale gets a flavor boost from mango, which perfectly plays off the citrusy hop bouquet. With fruit, hops, and a low ABV, this beer truly is on another level.

Bonito Blonde Ale

This brew draws you in with its golden color and soft malt character. Its light mouth-feel and dry finish will keep you coming back.
