Mothers Day Reservations are up 39%

Mother’s Day 2022 is this Sunday, May 8th, and American diners are back in full force, based on data from OpenTable

After two years of canceled celebrations and plans, an uptick in Mother’s Day reservations demonstrates that dining out is truly back.

According to OpenTable, Mother’s Day reservations are up 39 percent compared to pre-pandemic 2019 and 13 percent compared to 2021.

Indeed, Americans are feeling the excitement. According to a recent survey, 45 percent of those celebrating Mother’s Day are planning to make up for lost time by “going big” for their mom or a mom-like figure this year.

We expect this Mother’s Day to be bigger than ever and it may even surpass pre-pandemic levels. It looks like 48 percent of moms surveyed shared that their ideal Mother’s Day involves dining out, so if you haven’t made a reservation yet, now is the time.
