If you’ve visited your local liquor store, it’s hard to miss the mischievous, antihero skeleton that has flooded the aisles with its colorful and thematic packaging. With the initial launch in 2017, the Voodoo Ranger series started with just Ranger IPA and Imperial IPA. Fast forward to 2022 and with numerous releases throughout the year, Voodoo Ranger has become the #1 IPA Brand Family, producing 75% total volume for New Belgium Brewing.
Voodoo Ranger is anything but conventional when it comes to the craft beer industry. It’s easy to get lost in the sea of IPAs, but Voodoo is able to keep its relevancy with its unconventional, yet successful marketing campaigns. Recently they announced their newest campaign “Vote Voodoo” on social media, which allows consumers to vote on two competing Voodoo Ranger IPAs, Danger Beach IPA and Voodoo Vice IPA. The launch began on their Instagram page, which has an unprecedented 92,000 followers and continues to grow its fanbase daily. At the conclusion of the campaign, the victorious IPA will be the next brand launch that will be available in 6-packs for 2023.
